P&T
Surplus

P&TSurplus began doing business in 1964 as P&D Surplus.   P&D was originally designed to accommodate the two tractor trailer loads of surplus that would come daily from the IBM Corporation and the United States Military.  There would be upto 20 workers that would dismantle mainframe computers and electronics, sort the parts and package for resale.  Early customers were Canal Street businesses that would resell the parts.  An early demand for hard to get computer and electronic components led to P&D opening up to the public for retail trade.  In 1997 Tim Smythe Sr. and Tim Smythe Jr. purchased the company  from the original P&D owners and began operating as P&T Surplus.
Today, P&T Surplus still acquires surplus from IBM and many other companies and municipalities.  While the types of surplus has changed over the years, buying surplus remains the same…..Every company has surplus assets.   It can be excess inventory, used plant equipment or unneeded computer equipment.  Anything a company is not using in pursuit of its business.  P&T Surplus offers these companies a quick and efficient way to dispose of their surplus assets.i
